Those long agreement pages and their hidden meanings

I must really admin that I got a big shock today ( not of electricity but from an affiliate program. I signed up and it clearly said that it will pay me money for every free signup that is made from my referral link. Ok I was happy and included their ads in my one of the most popular site and within few days I reached $50 (which was enough to get paid) so I asked them to pay me now. WTH , now they added that 5% of those free members must have upgraded to paid membership. This 5% thingy is nowhere to be found in their Agreement page. So I am gonna sue them for this cheat and get my money anyhow. To add I would like to say that before one signing up for any affiliate program, must read agreement between the lines too and find out their “maybe” meanings in future to avoid any problem. And while I was writing this blog I found that a webmaster who joined by my referral link hasn’t been added to my account. I barked (well shouted) at them and they added him manually to my account. Now this is called a total local work @ssh01es !

The Messenger Manners

First of all, straight from my heart, I really don’t like chatting online. But I do since most of my friends are online and the cheapest way to communicate is chatting. Of course if not online, then it’s the phone which does the job, but chatting online (by typing) eh... I really don’t like it. You may be thinking then why not voice chat? First of all there is bandwidth problem, and then I will look like more a call center guy sitting in front of pc with headphone on my head.
Ok so sticking with my topic what I want to say here is that there are sometimes when someone new who I have never talked to pop up and start asking and asking. I think why don’t this guy just shut up and let me do my work peacefully? This must have happened to you too when someone starts bugging on messenger and no matter how much you tell him that you are buy and try to avoid him, he continues with same pace. At last I have to hide myself in messenger from everyone or I just log off when I get irritated too much. To these king of people who always bug me, I just want to say to them that I am not a global help desk that anyone can come and start querying about anything, which also by the way include my personal details like what I do, where I study etc etc.

The Girls Charm

You must have joined some sort of social networking sites like orkut / fropper / hi5 etc etc, there are so many but there is one this common in all, girls rules in these sites. Moment a girl signup, the inbox is flooded with invites and proposals. They are pampered well (or say irritated). So wats the reason behind this ? Well I found out and its simple. Look at the statistics and you will find there are more no. of boys than girls on these sites (no need to say some girls profile are fake). Boys who join these kinds of sites are 99% not for just normal friendship, since they already have lots of friends in real life, so they come for girls. Imagine if there were somewhat equal no. of boys and girls ratios on these sites, it will do wonders to the owner of the site (webmasters will understand my point ;) I request all the girls reading this to please do join your favorite social networking site, it will be a step to create a healthy online communities. Today the condition is like this, a boy who is trying hard for months on these sites to get attention, never get a “real” girls friends invite and a girl who does nothing, not even bother to sign in to her account get at least 10 friendship invite per minute !! At last the boy thinks bad about himself and loses confidence in himself. So girls act now ! Hit the register buttons and indulge in online activities. Its fun !

Who say’s you can trust me?

First let me explain you a bit how things happened. I had to register some domains so I called a person I know since many days who has been dealing with these things. His name is Faizan and he runs a computer center. My domains were registered within few hours but due to lack of knowledge he put my domains in his account instead of creating a new one. Now in his account there were many domains, one of his own, three of mine and about eight of some client. Now one day the client asked for the Cpanel login details. Mr. Faizan was smart enough to not to give it immediately and ask me beforehand that is there any risk? (I thank to him for this) he called me and I said that I’ll make myself a new account and move all my domains in my own account leaving the client so that you can safely give him the login details. He agreed. I started moving the domains to my account one by one and at last 9 domains were left, one of Mr. Faizan and rest were of a client. I called Mr. Faizan to ask that should I leave his domain in the account or move it too? He immediately said, “No No don’t leave it, move all our domains to your account and only leave the client domain’s in that old account.” Ok I started doing so but WTH; the domain was locked by reseller guy. I called the reseller who is also friend of Mr. Faizan to unlock it so that I can move it (I explained to him that Mr. Faizan has asked me to do so). First he agreed then said, “Umm ok but please first say to Mr. Faizan to call me or SMS me to unlock it, you know its critical matter!” he said with a bit cracking voice. I said ok ok no problem I’ll say him to call you and confirm it. Now here’s what I want to say, you don’t trust me? You thought I would steal a Rs.350 domain ? Ok you don’t but what on the earth will go wrong if that reseller would have said Ok I am unlocking it and just to confirm he would have called Mr. Faizan himself. These are the small things which matters a lot. When I first met this reseller (he came to my house for some work) he asked me to buy more domains and also refer others to buy from him. Being helpful I always referred and my friends also building trust with him. But know when he don’t trust me he has lost more than just a customer.

Call of a so called Net freak..

Tring ..Tring.. Hello whose that ? its me Waseem, My net is not working yaar..no link in my modem. This was the call I received last night at 12:30 AM. So what if your net is not working / no link in modem, why call me at late night ? I am not your ISP. He chatted for a while and I just kept thinking that he’s drunk or what. I am too an Internet freak and my work involves excessive use of broadband internet but if my net doesn’t work, I know what I have to do. Simply check the software first, like firewall software sometimes causes problem or PC just needs a reboot. Then I check modem and wires, If nothing works, I call the ISP. He would have sent me a SMS on my mobile but he called on landline phone which has a loud enough ring to wake everyone in my home. Its not that he was not aware of this, he knows everything as we are friends since long and he often visits my home. If by chance you get to read this (usually you don’t read) please don’t take me wrong, I have always helped you and continue to but next time please think before you ask and don’t forget to look at the clock.

Annual Flower Show at AMU

I wake up in the morning with stiff neck I was not able to sleep properly last night. Yesterday me and my friends went in an Annual Flower show (which is annual only by name and held every now and then). You will be surprised that what a computer geek is doing in a flower show ?, well I am interested in photography too, so always go there for some nice shots. What about my friends ? well me and my friends have a second reason to go there. And wats that ? Its Pretty Girls that are there which do give you a nice smile and we just love that ;) Its not only us, you will see more boys comming to this flower show and sadly none of them are interested in those flowers. Their eyes are just scanning the girls. The gate keeper at the entry gate smiles when he look these boys eager to enter the flower show, he knows the fact too. But what irritates me when my friends just don’t let me shoot peacefully. They are the least interested in my photography and then at the end of the day when they ask me for those lovely flower pics, grr.. first you don't let me shoot, then ask for pics (which are not tagged by Copyright of mine) hell.. I am not a fool buddy !

Damn.. he scratched it.

Here's I go with my first blog.. Say like, how to start ? umm let me tell you what was my mood when I started it, I was sad, really sad. Reason? A deep scratch on the tank of my new bike...ahh it hurts me. The one who did this cruelty to my bike was a kid. a poor kid so I just can't say a word, I just said to him, you shouldn’t have done this. What I learned that anyone can do a big harm to you anytime. We need to stay alert. Even a small innocent looking may give you a big hit.
